- This little flow that @craiglibby121 put together of me to work on is starting to look pretty sound! Still need to achieve more body tension to straighten out in the holds but pretty happy with how it’s coming along (especially given full rest week last week). It’s amazing both how much fun, and how much hard work can be produced by a set of blue @menshealthuk parallettes! - Back day 💪, one of my favourite days to train during the week as with legs it's an area I feel I need to work the most on. Lots of Rows and Pulldowns with some Dumbbell pullovers. I don't always deadlift and it probably is an exercise I could focus on a bit more to bring up my back but I enjoy a lot more volume and and squeezing the muscle over an exercise where I'm most likely going to focus more on the weight. That's just my personal preference mind muscle control over my ego. - One of my absolute fav things about climbing is watching the way your body learns as you challenge it! Pockets are generally not my friend. First time (*few times*) I tried this route I basically spent the time punching the wall or the wrong bit of hold as I couldn’t get the accuracy to latch the pockets properly. Eventually I got up it but it was a struggle. Over a week later, plus with a dodgy left shoulder I wanted to see if I could get it again and it went first time and it went super smoothly. Bodies ability to adapt and learn is unreal when you push it in the correct way! Thanks to @stephenpilling for the filming! 📹 #climbing #pockets #bouldering #climbing_lovers

- So on Saturday I had the fun of @blokfestuk round one. Big, able bodied bouldering comps always put me a bit out of my comfort zone but it’s always an awesome experience and I invariably end up having heaps of fun climbing (and falling off) some epic blocks! Sadly on my final climb of the day I wrenched my shoulder and couldn’t lift my hand above my head. Ok Saturday @robinoleary had managed to crowbar the parateam into @youthclimbingsymposium. This was an opportunity not to be missed, with some of the worlds best climbers and coaches imparting their wisdom on the next generation (and us). Amazing to see so many strong and psyched young guns absolutely tearing it up! Next gen of climbers are looking so strong! Injured shoulder or not I wasn’t going to let this opportunity pass me by so I drugged up, iced up, and tried everything I could. Such a fun day and great to meet and work with @greenalltom @_udini_ @patxiusobiaga_pucseries @kraftfactory @dickikorb and Madeline. Full rest day yesterday. Back on the wall and in the gym today. - So I've been trying to break the habit of sleeping in and being lazy in the morning! I decided to kick it with kundalini yoga Sadhana practice. For those that do not know morning sadhana takes place 2 1/2 hours before sunrise known as the ambrosial hours. Sadhana is a committed prayer. It's something you choose to do and want to do. It's self discipline in my eyes. - Lots of training fun this evening! Big workout with @_morgan_6 and @ollybryant25, then me and Oliver decided to do some max hang tests on the @beastmakers... it all got a bit silly but was feeling pretty strong! On the smallest edge on the BeastMaker 2000 I was hanging 40kg added weight but struggled on the leap to 50kg and could only hold a couple of seconds. Then went onto the 1000 series and got a bit crazy. Weight vest, plus weight plates was about 90kg added weight and it felt like a pretty solid hold, we then tried oliver hanging off me. Fair to say this didn’t go too smoothly! 😂 90kg added at 75kg body weight ain’t bad though!! :) #beastmaker #fingerboard #training #fingerstrength #back #health #fitness #teamwork #funandgames #allthefilters #stronger #sundaynight #tattoo #goals #workout #maxtesting

Finally i had enough and started taking back my life. No doubt i still wake up in pain but i push thru. With adding in exercise and eating better i am feeling less like a 70yr old in pain and closing the gap to my actual age. My goal is to defy the doctors and do the things peeps my age can or better yet younger than me (ohh how fun it would be to be in the 20’s again...anyone got a time machine?) Hope this is encouraging to others especially those with fibro or some other disability. BE who you want, NOT who your told to be.
